Whistling Gardens

Last Wednesday Flamborough Horticultural Society invited Darren Heimbecker from Whistling Gardens. His presentation “Dwarf Conifers, Smaller Trees and Shrubs for Today’s Garden!” was so impressive that we came to visit his garden on Saturday.

I knew that Canada has five types of pines but the Garden showed us much-much more. Did you ever see curly needles? Or 6 inch long one? Or double-colored needles?

Double colored pine
Two colors change each other in sharp manner several times on the same needle
You can also see Fauntain Show in the Gardens.

  2. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it
to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this
is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
